A new — to PittGirl– Steelers Fight Song

Posted by pittgirl on 31 Jan 2006 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

This may be old to you, but it was new to PittGirl.
I have no idea how I feel about this.
I have no words. It goes from being spooky, to a bit odd, to weird, to kind of cool, back to weird again and on it goes.
I like how the lady at the beginning is [...]

Try again, WQED.

Probably getting lots of complaints because they named some nasty trolls (ok, maybe that’s harsh) as the 25 most beautiful Burghers, WQED’s Pittsburgh Magazine has ALREADY opened up nominations for the the January 2007 edition of the mag.
I think you know what to do. Nominate some attractive people! Physically attractive, my God.
PittGirl will [...]

Oh, LaMont. Volume II.

If PittGirl used the “F-word” she would use it right here:
Screw it.
I am a Burgher. I live in the Burgh. There is no way in hell I am going to get through the week without posting about football damn it! It just isn’t going to work.
If you aren’t a football/Steelers fan … what is WRONG [...]

Why Tom Murphy should be a firefighter

Posted by pittgirl on 30 Jan 2006 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Let me preface by saying that I love firefighters and I know that firefighters are heroes. That said…
Dudes?
There are 142 employees of our fine, financially struggling city that make more than the Mayor and most of them are firefighters. 18 of the top 25 earners in the city are firefighters!
Holy shit!
How come [...]

No fruit chews? The hell kind of daycare is this?

Here it is. A non-football post. You’re welcome.
A criminologist at CMU has used lots of geniusy methods and numbers and charts and graphs to determine the most physically aggressive group of human beings.
Guess who that is?
The Bi-Polars? The passive-aggressives? The death-rowers? The Mala Noche (gotta watch the Shield)? Steelers fans if the Steelers [...]

PittGirl cracks up.

I’m just going to tell you to go here and read this post on Deadspin.
I’d say more, but I’m too busy cleaning coffee off of my monitor.
Also, as the God of Football (all hail) as my witness, no more football posts until Friday. At least I’m going to try, damn it!

Ken Rice! Bob Pompeani! Have I died and gone to heaven?!

As I mentioned, PittGirl headed to the Steelers Pep Rally on Friday, at which massive amounts of crazed Steelers fans turned out to offer virgin sacrifices to the Gods of Football.
The first hour or so was spent jamming to the tunes of the Burgh’s own Povertyneck Hillbillies, which rocked (photos here). You don’t need to [...]

This is a random football post.

As you know, PittGirl was not in the Burgh for the Denver game, but rather spent it at a Steelers party in a Mexican house in Cancun, Mexico, complete with Mexican people, Mexican food, wagering of Mexican pesos, a big Mexican dog, and commercials for the best Mexican bread … Bimbo. No lie.
However, NOTHING compares [...]

Have you met my daughter Eighty-Six?

Posted by pittgirl on 27 Jan 2006 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

The next time you enter into a conversation about the insane names people give their children (I’m looking at you Apple Paltrow Martin, Rumer and Scout Willis, Khal-el Cage, Diezel and Denim Braxton, Hopper Penn and Homer Gere), be sure to include this one.
They named their son Seven after being inspired to “go numerical” after [...]

I’m back, baby!

Posted by pittgirl on 27 Jan 2006 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

The Friday morning back from Mexico random thoughts:
1. I have eight newspapers to read. 8!
2. While I was away Cyril was indicted, the Steelers are going to the SuperBowl, they still don’t have maps in the pedestrian map stations, it is still cold here, Mario retired again, the Penguins were put up [...]
