Representin’ the #8 drunkest city!

Posted by pittgirl on 29 Sep 2006 | Tagged as: Annoying Burghers, Famous Burghers

Boy, some people sure take our being named the 8th drunkest city in the country very very seriously.
I haven’t really watched the Bachelor since Byron and Mary got engaged, but hot damn babies I am NOT missing this one. Not when it appears the resident trash is going to be a Burgher. That’s [...]

And finally today

Danny O is going to veto the no-smoking bill because of a state law that will override the county law that smoking will be prohibited in casinos. The veto may actually stand because some of the council members aren’t pleased with the exemption either.
I totally agree that if you can’t smoke in a restaurant [...]

Penguins … with guns.

KDKA has a pretty awesome video of a “unique” training program that the Penguins are being put through … miliarty type training, complete with exercising while carrying what appear to be semi-automatic rifles.

I guess this means instead of just checking our opponents until their eyeballs pop out, the Penguins will in fact be capable of [...]

Bruuuuuuuuuce.

It is a bye week for the Steelers, and also a bye week for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, however, next week would be the perfect opportunity for you to say “Hello, hottie!” to one of the Burgh’s own rising quarterbacks, namely Bruce Gradkowski who was drafted to Tampa Bay after a pretty good run at [...]

Darlene Costa is ACTUALLY always the last to know.

Have you EVER said, “Why am I always the last to know?” PittGirl has said that many times because in my large family I am ALWAYS the last to know … my family is like, “So are you ready for family vacation next week.” And I’m like, “We have family vacation next week?” [...]

Randomly I stroll …

1. My postings have been a bit more sparse this week for the simple reason that there hasn’t been much snark-worthy news … and let’s be real, that’s the bestest kind of news. Reader dukey11 commented, “Post more. I love you.” Since I completely take to shameless flattery, I’ll do my [...]

Run Ben, RUN!

Ed Bouchette touched on what PittGirl has been thinking since Sunday … why isn’t Benny running?
Bill Cowher delivered a message to his quarterback yesterday, borrowing a line from Forrest Gump: Run, Ben, Run!
Word.
How many times on Sunday did you see Benny standing in a pocket looking for a receiver, find none, the pocket opens up, [...]

Who the hell is that?

Posted by pittgirl on 27 Sep 2006 | Tagged as: Local media

Quick poll for all you current and former Burghers, you see this exact photo plastered on the side of every other bus in the city, and on billboards on major streets, along with the picture of a dancing couple and the words Trib Total Media in the corner and no caption to the photo telling [...]

OMG, the world is ending!

Well, they did it. Allegheny County Council went ahead and passed the smoking ban.
Anybody out there slitting their wrists over this?
I’m cool with it, and honestly could live with it either way. Sure, I’d LOVE not to come home from a restaurant, bar, or club smelling like a cigarette, and sure, I’d love [...]

It wasn’t a landslide, it was a land mass migration! Duh!

Posted by pittgirl on 27 Sep 2006 | Tagged as: Eye rolls

So the PG looked into what made the hill fall onto Route 65, and it pretty much sums up what we already know: the developer got a waiver on having to bench the land, and therefore the hillside wasn’t as sturdy as it could have been had they benched it.
I’m bringing this article, which [...]
