I understand this was a business move. I do not question this fact. Only thing is, if our F.O. is supposed to be one of the best at managing the cap, why couldnt this be avoided? Not so good with projected figures there FO. There are just SO many changes now. I liked the Tomlin hire and thought we could give it a great run again this year. Not so sure right now. Lost ALOT of the pieces of the puzzle 2005. Now I have to agree with the glass half empty rebuilding year blow hards….. good bye Big Nasty D

Let’s also agree that we love the Steelers. I’m old enough to remember all of the Super Bowls even though I couldn’t go to any of them in a limo!

You are so easy. You have To have a thicker skin dude. I guess you have never been anywhere but the burgh. I have traveled to Steeler games across America in my own Chauffeured Limo, as well as frequent flyer miles out the wahzoo. I have been to almost every venue (Some now extinct) in The NFL. Been to countless games in Pittburgh and on the road since 1970. I was in attendance at Super Bowl XL ($$$) AND Super Bowl XIII ($$) (Which was probably before you were even born.) You couldn’t afford to pay my driver($$$) what I’ve spent on games over the last 30 something years. And I always arrive with an Entourage of rabid Steeler fans ($$$).

You started with the name calling when you labled people racist just because they disliked Tomlin being picked over others for head coach. I just paid you back in your own coin sir! All people were really doing was disagreeing with you. In America we have freedom of speech - the right to disagree. You really need to get ahold of your emotions dude, it’s just a blog. Meet me at the Hall of Fame Game this summer (One of many Steeler Games, home and away, I will attend). I’ll stand you for that beer. If you have never been to the Hall come check it out. We can stroll together. When we get to the Steeler wing I’m sure we will have lots to agree on!!
PS I was only kidding about you being a closet Browns Fan! No hard feelings man.

I’m glad you find some humor in Bruce’s replies to my postings. I feel sorry for him. I really do. Being a racist and closeted Browns fan is the furthest thing from the truth.

I’d like to know how many years Bruce has been a season ticket holder — if at all. Let his actions speak louder than his words. Anyone can post comments on a blog for free. I want to know how much of his hard earned cash he’s put into supporting his team. Zero? You don’t say! Wow..I’m totally surprised. NOT!

I’d actually buy him a beer at a game if I met him. It’s always good to be nice to the less fortunate in our world.

It’s nice to see Bruce and Pinto at it again. There may be nothing worse than a “racist closet Brown’s fan”.

Porter will be missed in some way shape or form, but he was definitely on the decline and it was time. Sadly, Porter may have actually benefitted from a 4-3 getting away from the blockers. Unfortunately for such a conservative team we are cap heavy.

James Harrison will get a shot and he is a beast in his own right. Look for possibly two stud linebackers to be picked up in the draft. Porter’s not the only one that’s aging…

Any thoughts on the 1st pick?

So, take away the money issue, who else on the team has proven (PROVEN) to be as productive and inspiring as JP. Can’t say anything for sure about Tomlin but I sure hope he wasn’t intimidated by Joey’s influence. It’s good to see that so many Steeler fans are willing to wait another 25 years by praising what has ALWAYS happened? They always replace with better talent? Really? So why the quarter century gap?

Alright I’ll curl up fetal for ya. I loved Joey Porter…yeah he had a big mouth, yeah he’s got pit bulls with even bigger mouths. So he’s not at his peak. The players loved him…he was a leader and a warrior. I shudder to think the Bungles, Ravens, or Brownies will get him and yes, all 3 are seriously looking him over. Hope ya get the big bucks Joey, you’ve given me alot of memories. God I hope the new memories aren’t you playing for a rival divisional foe. Best of luck to ya Peezy!

Diane I’m with you. This is all about protecting the new coach. Hey Pinto Bean (Closet Browns fan?) the Rooneys are not always the great buiness men you claim they are. Chad Brown, Mike Vrable, Len Dawson, Johnny U, (just to name a few)I could go on and on. One thing is for certain, evaluating the relasing and trading players can only be done in retrospect. Only time will tell if this was a good move or not. Get ready Steeler fans, Alan Faneca may be next. This would be a far more damaging move. Thanks for the memeories Joey. I’m glad to see James Harrison get a shot. Let’s see how well he handles the road.
